Defining Sponsorship Deliverables That Satisfy Both Parties
· Sponsorship Tips
Clear deliverables prevent misunderstandings and set expectations. Learn to define what you will provide and how to measure success.
Deliverables are the specific actions and outputs you promise a sponsor in exchange for their investment. Poorly defined deliverables are the number one cause of sponsor dissatisfaction, because what you consider a reasonable interpretation of your agreement may differ significantly from what the brand expected. Crystal-clear deliverables prevent these conflicts.
Categorize your deliverables into tiers: core, standard, and premium. Core deliverables are the foundation of every sponsorship, such as logo rotation on your overlay for a specified number of hours per week. Standard deliverables add value through chat mentions, shoutouts during streams, and inclusion on your channel panels. Premium deliverables might include dedicated sponsor segments, product reviews, social media campaigns, or custom content creation.
Make every deliverable measurable. Instead of promising to "mention the sponsor during streams," commit to "two verbal mentions per stream, each lasting at least fifteen seconds, during the first and last hour of each broadcast." Instead of "featuring the logo on overlay," specify "logo displayed in the bottom-right corner during all live content, rotating with other sponsors every sixty seconds." Measurability removes ambiguity and gives both parties clear benchmarks.
Include a reporting schedule in your deliverables. Commit to sending the sponsor a monthly or bi-weekly report summarizing impression counts, mention timestamps, and any additional exposure generated through clips or social posts. Proactive reporting builds trust and shows the sponsor that you take the partnership seriously even when they are not checking on you.
StreamSponsor.app automates much of your deliverable tracking by logging impression data, rotation counts, and display hours for every sponsor in your roster. Reference this automated data in your reports to add credibility and reduce the manual work of compiling performance metrics. When deliverables are clearly defined and objectively tracked, both parties can focus on the creative partnership rather than debating whether obligations were met.
