How to Approach Potential Sponsors as a Small Streamer
· Sponsorship Tips
You don't need 10,000 followers to land a sponsor. Small streamers can build partnerships with the right approach.
The biggest misconception about streaming sponsorships is that you need a massive audience. In reality, brands—especially local and niche businesses—value engaged communities over raw numbers.
Start by identifying brands that align with your content. If you stream cooking, approach kitchen supply companies. If you play indie games, reach out to indie developers. Alignment makes the pitch natural.
Your pitch should be specific and professional. Instead of "Hey, want to sponsor me?", try: "I stream [genre] to an average of [X] viewers three times a week. I'd like to display your logo during my streams and include a shoutout in each broadcast. Here's what that would look like [link to demo or screenshot]."
Having a professional overlay setup strengthens your pitch significantly. When a potential sponsor sees that you already have a polished, automated system for displaying partner logos, it shows you're serious and organized.
Start small. A $50/month sponsorship from a local business is a legitimate partnership that can grow. As your channel expands, so do your rates and your appeal to larger brands.
