Live GPS Tracking for Location-Aware Overlays

· Features

Enable Live GPS to power location-aware features like weather updates and the StreamMap widget.

Location data opens up powerful possibilities for streaming overlays. Live GPS tracking provides your real-time coordinates to power location-aware features.

Once enabled, GPS data feeds into the weather widgets (updating conditions for your current location), the StreamMap (showing your position on a live map), and any future location-based features.

The update interval is configurable. High-speed travel might need updates every 5-10 seconds, while stationary streams only need occasional checks. Adjusting the interval balances accuracy with battery life on mobile devices.

Privacy is considered in the design. GPS tracking is entirely opt-in, and the raw coordinates aren't stored permanently. The data is used in real-time to update your overlay features and then discarded.

For IRL streamers who travel during broadcasts—driving, biking, walking—Live GPS adds a dynamic element that audiences love. Watching someone's position update on a map in real-time is inherently engaging.
